Temptec Sonata HD Pro (CS43131)

I'm very happy about my Sonata HD Pro. The CS43131 is the best DAC+AMP chip you can find on the market. It's a pity that TempoTec is dismissing this chip for ESS products...Someone complains sync problems on the USB side (clicks & pops) but I own 3 Sonata HD Pro and I never faced these problems. Proably I was lucky...

A solid dongle DAC

The DAC chip it uses is bright and airy compared to many others. Well executed implementation for sound quality. Has bit-perfect playback on iphone apps. Solid build. Doesn't seem to be a big drain on my phone battery. Only complaint is that the volume steps using the device's buttons are a little large. Over all I'm very happy with it so far! Would recommend to anyone that's looking for a bright DAC.

Perfect companion!

I have been using this for about a week and it’s an amazing companion to my A12ts and even my Focal Clears! I travel a lot so I was looking for a clean dongle with on board volume controls. The apple dongle had issues with the treble becoming too shouty but the HD Pro has toned down the treble and really increased the sense of space I feel while listening. It’s now permanently attached to my A12t for all my listening needs! S+
